Privacy Policy
Draft for review. This policy is being finalized and may change before Eleutheria's public release.
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Applies to: the Eleutheria mobile app, the website eleutheria.help, and its API
Operator: Sigae Intl LLC ("we", "us") [confirm]
The short version
- Your case information stays on your phone, encrypted. We don't have a copy.
- Your documents stay in your own cloud storage. We never receive them.
- Signing in with Google tells the app your name and e-mail address only. It does not give us access to your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or anything else, and that information is not sent to our servers.
- We have no ads, no analytics and no trackers, in the app or on this website. We don't sell or rent personal information.
- The only personal information we keep is what you choose to send us through the contact form. It is stored on our server and e-mailed to us so we can answer.
- You can delete your data at any time. See Delete your data.
1. What Eleutheria is
Eleutheria is an app that helps you collect and organize evidence for an immigration filing, for example a self-petition under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). You can give the result to your attorney or use it to file on your own. Eleutheria is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
We know that many people who use Eleutheria are in difficult or unsafe situations. We designed it to collect as little as possible.
2. Information that stays on your phone
The app keeps the information you enter only on your device:
| Information | Example | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your sign-in | Which provider you used, your name or e-mail, when you signed in | On your phone, encrypted |
| Case notes | Timeline events, people in your story, journeys, checklists, answers to intake questions | On your phone, encrypted |
| App settings | Language, update status | On your phone |
This information is encrypted with a key held in your phone's secure keystore (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain). The app turns off Android's automatic backup for its data, so it is not copied to Google's backup servers. We cannot read it, and it is not sent to us.
If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, this information is deleted from your phone. Because we don't have a copy, we cannot recover it for you.
3. Your documents
Eleutheria is built so that your documents (photos, letters, records and similar files) stay in your own cloud storage account, such as Google Drive, iCloud Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, under your control. We never store copies of your documents, their contents or text taken from them on our servers.
The current version of the app does not connect to any cloud storage yet. Before it does, we will update this policy, and the app will ask for your permission. We will ask only for the narrowest access the feature needs (for Google Drive, only the files you create or open with Eleutheria).
4. Signing in with Google
When you choose "Continue with Google", the app asks Google for these permissions only:
| Permission (scope) | What it gives the app | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
openid | A sign-in confirmation from Google | To sign you in |
email | Your e-mail address | Shown in the app's Account tab so you know which account you used |
profile | Your name | Shown in the app's Account tab |
This information is saved only on your phone, encrypted, and is not sent to our servers. We don't request offline access, so the app gets no long-lived token to act on your Google account. We don't ask for access to Google Drive, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google data.
Google API Services User Data Policy. Eleutheria's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the features you use or as required by law, and do not let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or as required by law.
You can remove Eleutheria's access at any time in Google Account → Third-party connections.
Sign-in with Dropbox or Microsoft is not available yet. When it is, it will also ask for identity only, and this policy will be updated.
5. Contact messages
If you use the contact form or the deletion request form, we receive:
- the e-mail address you give us, so we can reply;
- the topic you choose (for example "Delete my data");
- your message, if you write one.
We store these on our server in the United States, and our server e-mails a copy to the inboxes we answer from (Google Workspace and Gmail) [confirm], so we can reply to you directly. We don't store your name, phone number, IP address or device details with your message. Please don't include case details or information about other people.
How long we keep them: until your question is resolved, and never longer than 12 months, on our server and in our e-mail. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days; once we confirm, we delete the request, your messages and the e-mails about them.
Our server limits how many messages one connection can send, to block spam. To do that it keeps a scrambled, non-reversible version of your network address in memory only, for at most 15 minutes. It is never written to disk.
6. This website
eleutheria.help does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, social media buttons, fonts or scripts from other companies. Pages are served from our own server. We have configured the site so that visitors' IP addresses are not written to logs. Like any website, our hosting provider's network necessarily handles your IP address to deliver pages to you.
7. App updates
To check for updates, the app downloads a small file describing the latest version from our server (currently www.moostash.io, which we operate), and downloads the update itself from there if you choose to install it. These requests include your IP address and basic device information, as every internet request does. They do not include your sign-in or case information.
8. Who we share information with
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- Service providers. Our server and database run on Oracle Cloud in the United States. Oracle stores data for us and is not allowed to use it for its own purposes.
- E-mail. Copies of contact messages are delivered to and kept in our e-mail accounts with Google (Google Workspace and Gmail) [confirm]. We use them only to answer you.
- Law firms, only if you ask. A future feature will let you ask to be put in touch with partner law firms. It will be off by default. Nothing will be shared unless you choose a specific firm and see exactly what will be sent.
- Legal requests. We would disclose information only if the law requires it, for example a valid court order. Because your case information stays on your phone, we hold very little. Where the law allows, we will tell you before disclosing anything.
9. Security
The app encrypts the information it keeps on your phone (XChaCha20-Poly1305, with the key in your phone's secure keystore). Our website and API use HTTPS. Access to our server and to the inboxes that receive contact messages is limited to the people who run Eleutheria. No system is perfectly secure, and keeping your phone locked with a passcode only you know is the best protection for information stored on it.
10. Your choices and rights
- See or delete what we hold: contact us or use the deletion page. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to complain to a regulator. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever they live.
- Delete what is on your phone: uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Stop Google sign-in access: remove Eleutheria in your Google Account settings.
11. Children
Eleutheria is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect or share, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where required.
13. Contact
Use the contact form for any privacy question or request.
